The Importance of Recycling
by Travis Postma
There are many reasons why recycling is
important to our county/state and the world in general. Recycling
helps keep the area around us clean and free of anything harmful
that might hurt us, or the world around us. It makes the area around
us look cleaner and more welcoming. Also, it allows us to use things
more then once. An example would be using recycled paper, newspaper
and cardboard as many times as possible. That would enable us not to
cut down any more trees or use any other natural resource that we
could deplete. The most important reason for me to recycle is the
thought of a new generation living as well if not better than we do
right now. You would want your children, grandchildren, and future
generations to be able live in a happy, safe, and clean environment,
wouldn’t you? I would want that to be the case for me, when I have
children. I want them to be happy, safe and clean.
If we all do what we are currently committed to and do it better, we
will have a good clean environment for our self, our children and of
course the next generation to live in as well. We need to keep up
with the recycling process and be committed to it ourselves. We need
to work together as a team and make the environment what we want it
to be. We need to step up and take responsibility and run with it.
There is also another reason to keep the environment clean; we
should keep it clean so that the animals we have now, we don’t lose.
We don’t want to accidentally get rid of animals that don’t need to
be killed off. The circle of life isn’t just us keeping the area
clean ourselves; animals do their part as well. The tiniest insect
to the largest mammal all have their part in our eco-system to
keeping it nice, safe, and healthy for everyone to live in.
The consumer plays the biggest part in the above objectives by the
way he or she lives, learns, teaches and believes in the benefits of
recycling. The consumer’s every day habits must embody the belief
that to recycle is to enhance the circle of life. Bottle collection,
cardboard recycling, use of the blue bin on a weekly basis all
contribute to the betterment of our environment for now and future
generations. There are also recycling plants around us that help us
use our recycling process to our advantage, they help with the
recycling process, a big help.
Recycling has become a way of life for me and my family and I hope
to pass that way of life along to all those I meet. |
